Anyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with Angelo and Romana Caputo know what a true blessing that was. Immigrating from Italy to America in the 1950s, it is through their strength and perseverance that Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Markets was born. Knowing the struggles of being in a new land, Caputo’s became its own community. Neighbors— old and new— could come together and were now able to enjoy the staple pieces of their past that they left behind in their new home.
Angelo and Romana’s true pride and passion was family. They loved their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nothing made them happier than seeing their family together. In addition, they had a unique ability to make people feel at home. Whether staying for a week or an hour, you were made to feel like part of the family and a treasured guest as soon as you walked into the Caputo household.
They gave selflessly and never asked or expected anything in return. It was their mission to serve others and their life goal was to make sure everyone in their path was happy and never hungry… in any way.
